Viblock Ltd was established in 2004 as a partnership between the Palmer MH Group of Dunedin and Keith Millar the Managing Director. The Palmer Group has a sound Otago base and has been involved in the quarrying and engineering business for 75 years. Keith is a Civil Engineer and has extensive experience in concrete based manufacturing.
The plant was commissioned in 2004 on the banks of the Clutha River with a state of the art Columbia plant initially to produce masonry blocks for the expanding Central Otago market. The product range has since been extended to include paving stones, retaining walls, and Villa Veneer all available in a range of attractive colours. The market serviced has also expanded considerably
In May 2009 Viblock Ltd purchased Stevensons South Island based in Christchurch. This is a multi site operation producing masonry blocks at the plant in Wainoni Rd and wetcast pavers from our site in Matipo St all produced under the Viblock brand. Extensive plant refurbishment has occurred to improve product quality and plant efficincies. This significant purchase allows Viblock to effectively service the South Island and provides the opportunity for further product development
